Gurgaon in Haryana is full of amazing landscape, colorful buildings, illuminated malls, buzzling crowd places, 6 lane highways - a new mall India. In fact Guragon, Noida top the real estate and have overtaken Bangalore too.
This article appeared in Time Magazine on May 8, 2008 describing Sahara Mall in Gurgaon
It looks like Gurgaon Mall Culture outdoes American ones. I can judge only after seeing all selected malls across the US. However looking at videos, description in wikipedia and my dad's description I am enthralled.
Here's a quick look:

"The culture in Gurgaon is quite different from other parts of India. Most Gurgaonoans go to shopping malls everyday and watch a movie every two weeks. The average eating out average stands at 3.7 time a week higher than the national average of 1.89. The creme of Delhi move to Gurgaon causing a very high standard of life being formed in Gurgaon."
Here's article stating Gurgaon will build FOUR 140 storey buildings...Now I get why real estate is so high here. So too is the crime rate. The administration is completely looked after by IAS Officers.

Yes! the malls look just like the ones in US - actually better looking I should say. I have always found malls in Europe and India very contemporary unlike most malls in US that are built without much significance to looks (interior/exterior) .
Great pictures! I wish Bangalore had this many malls and roads to get to them :)

I think gurgaon the name, gaon(village) is not suiting the place its awesome to see new malls in such a state and if u just ask a guess with some person to name the place or Country I think no one will guess that its in India RIGHT?
My dear Seena and Swathi,
Let me bring to your attention that the beauty of a city is not measured by number of malls it houses. But by the quality of gentry. Living in Gurgaon is no less a struggle. There is no much activity to involve children and adults so all there is to do is go mall hopping. The culture is non-existent. No one in Gurgaon has time to talk to neighbour, kids don’t have time to go to parks. There are big malls and big roads that lead to them. However, the public transport or let me say safe public transport is completely unavailable. This is a good city to visit. But to stay…no no its not the greatest.
